RALLY FOR THE CHEESE

Mike Vick, Kordell Stewart (Slash), and RG3 are quarterbacks that had some success as a running quarterback. Steve Young and Randall Cunningham were running quarterbacks that had taken their game to higher levels as they could stay in pocket and pass the ball. Steve Young and Randall Cunningham had great careers as they flourished over a decade in the NFL. Mike Vick, RG3, AND Kordell Stewart had some good years. They showed some flash as they ran all around the field gaining lots of yards making tacklers miss. They even completed passes as they all had some talented years. However when you’re outside the pocket and running quarterbacks turn into running backs and they get popped a lot. Teams catch on to a running quarter back and they are well prepared. They want them to pass as they contain behind the center. As they hold on to the ball just a tad longer they get popped from behind. The hits mount up. The yards decrease. The passes sail too high, too low, or right at the defender. The ball suddenly flies out of the quarter back’s hand as the hit takes them in tomorrow land. What group do you thing Colin Kaepernick belongs in?

I love writing my own blog about a variety of things. However I wish I could write for a newspaper. Even though I have never sent out a resume or even a sample of my writing to one. If I got turned down maybe my fan nation would rally for me and protest all the periodicals across the nation until they hire me. I would not expect people to get me a job. I would not want people to rally and protest to get me a job. I will eventually get to a level where I will get a great job doing the thing I love to do in the world, write. I will do it on my time schedule. I will do it the way I want to do it. I will still write this blog as well.

However August 23, 2017 everyone is invited to New York city. We are going to have a rally in front of NFL headquarters. Spike Lee might even be there. If Colin Kaepernick signs with a team before that, then I believe we will have to catch a show or something because the rally will be cancelled. However, looks like it should be still on as every NFL team has not picked up the phone to sign Kaepernick as one of their quarter backs. Yes we need to get together and find Kaepernick a NFL job. Because he deserves one.

It appears when the Dolphins signed Jay Cutler, the Kaepernick nation took it as a karate judo kick to the groin. Cutler who was going to be in the broadcast booth and walk away from the game he gave two craps about, took the money and another job. He will be starting for the Miami Dolphins leaving Kaepernick washing his Police are pigs socks on Sundays. So now the rally is on. Spike Lee will be there with bells on, but claims he did not organize the upcoming rally. He tweeted, “united we stand.”

Is Kaepernick being black balled by all the NFL teams? Did the commissioner send out a memo to all the teams saying you can not sign Colin? If you do sign Colin Kaepernick would it cost your franchise? Would you lose draft picks? Is this some kind of  conspiracy? Does Kaepernick deserve a second shot playing quarterback with someone?

Teams in the NFL have always signed questionable players. Even in some cases players who have gone to extreme measures by beating up their wife or girlfriend. Drug offenders have even been swept under the rug. Mike Vick came out of jail after he was busted for his role in dog fighting. So why wouldn’t a team take a chance on a guy who kneels during the national anthem?

All of the issues from drugs and beating up your girl to organizing dog fights have come off the field. Kaepernick stand is taking place on the field during the national anthem. His socks he wore making fun of the Police department were worn during practice. If he did not want anybody to see him wearing them, then why show them off during a practice where cameras are rolling? Plus they are different colors than the 49er uniform so it’s very obvious. As a celebrity he is using company time to express his beliefs and opinions about topics going on across the United States. The singer from U2 always uses the stage as his own personal soap box. However it’s his band and he can do what he wants. When he plays and gets paid by San Francisco, he should not use their logo and talk about what he stands for. In your own job you cant do that or you be warned and if you kept doing it you be terminated. Why couldn’t he do that on his own time? The NFL and most businesses are about the mighty dollar. Some people probably applauded his stand. While lots of people did not. However, the bottom line is whether fans don’t want to come back to watch football games because of Kaepernick’s stand, then the team will lose money. The fans pay his salary.

The quarter back is the most important position on the field. It’s usually the face of the franchise. They usually get the most money. The teams that are most successful have a great quarterback. Tom Brady, example A. To be a great quarterback, it takes talent and leadership. Brady’s offensive line would probably walk barefoot over burning coals for him. Kaepernick only saw like two dudes kneeling with him on his big stand. If Kaepernick was a Rogers or a Brady the whole squad would be kneeling together.

This is not that mind boggling. First thing first I will say Kaepernick is better than many of the quarter backs in the league. However I do not think he’s better than most of the starters in the league. Colin wants to be a starter as all quarterbacks do. I hear people in the media saying Colin should be a starter. Never hear they would want him starting on their team though. Seriously they play both sides of the coin. If you say he’s a bad quarterback, people might say you’re Donald Trump like. Because Kaepernick walks a fine line on his stand with the kneeling for the National Anthem, it makes it a story where most people will say he’s a good quarterback that should start because they don’t want to be Donald Trump like. Take his National Anthem kneel out of the equation he would be a back up somewhere. I do believe he would also get another chance as a starter if something happened to the guy he was backing up. Sometimes it’s about waiting for chance to come again.

I think Kaepernick falls into the RG3, SLASH, and Mike Vick group. Teams are on to him. Nobody will pay him to be their starter. I think he brings too much baggage to the locker room. No team wants the great divide to happen. They’d rather have a journeyman like Josh McCown who can help the other quarterbacks as well as keep the locker room intact. Or teams want young guys to develop. Jay Cutler had history with the head coach of the Dolphins which is a no brainer signing Cutler over Kaepernick. Lots of teams do not want to change around their offense just to fit Kaepernick’s strengths. I think he fits perfectly in Seattle’s system. But Kaepernick walked out of their headquarters unsigned. To me, I’m not paying good money to have this clown on my team. Overall his skills are declining. He would bring the circus with him everywhere you go if he was on a team. You might lose money from people not wanting to even see this bum play. I don’t think the NFL has black balled him. I think it’s buyer beware. Only way he comes back to play is if a team suffers multiple injuries behind center and then someone will give him a ring. Let the games begin on August 23, 2017. Let’s make sure we get a new rule and clause in that every NFL team has to sign a player with his own Side show or Police pig socks.

JAY’S BUYING! HE HAS WON THE LOTTO AGAIN!!!!

Looks like Jay Cutler’s broadcast career is on hold for now. You thought you saw him throw his last interception. Jay Cutler has won the lottery again. He might of earned a million or two for his football insight on Fox Sports. However this week he pulled the lever of the slot machine and has bumped his salary this year up to ten million. Yes, HE’S back and he will be playing for the Miami Dolphins on a one year deal.

Jay Cutler has the life of Reilly. Seriously he has won the Chicago sweep stakes as the Bears have paid him big bucks for what. He has only gotten 117 million dollars in the last 11 years. He has a model wife. He can scratch himself on his boat and his bum is the top story of the day. Oh and he lives in Nashville. Enjoy some honky tonk music and some great BBQ in Music City. He nails an audition for Fox. They hire him. Then the man with the horseshoe so far up his behind gets the best football situation to revive his sorry ass career.

This is how it went down. Last year Dolphins won ten games with their new coach Adam Gase.  He was one of Cutler’s many offensive coordinators in Jay’s career. However Adam Gase got the best out of Jay Cutler. That kind of job was enough for the Dolphins to make Adam their head coach. The Dolphins thinking this guy did the impossible to get someone who just does not care to do well is worth it. Year one Adam Gase gets the Dolphins into playoffs winning ten games. Then it’s like Jay Cutler, Tonya Harding, Ryan Tannehill’s knee (the Dolphins starting quarterback) who went down with a knee injury. Tannehill needs knee surgery and is probably out for the year. Then Cutler has his feet up on the bar stool next to him rocking to some country when he gets the call. Ten million smackers is a lot of cheese. He agrees and like a cockroach who survived a nuclear holocaust apocalypse Cutler will be wearing a fish on his helmet looking to take the money and run.

Could this be a bad move on Adam Gase’s part? Putting all his eggs in the Cutler basket. First of all they only gave Cutler a one year deal. Unless they are like the Bears after he plays very well his first half of the season, and give him an contract extension. However the Dolphins are not that stupid. If this thing fails they can quickly cut ties with the bum and send him packing back to honkytonk town. If this situation goes south and Dolphins go down in a firing wreckage on South Beach, Adam Gase will be criticized. But I think he gets a life line because Tannehill went down right before the first preseason game. Not much available in the dollar bin. That leaves the poor old dusty old Kaepernick model still kneeling there. He must feel like he was picked last in gym class.

If this thing works, Gase will look like a genius. However the Dolphins will have to be buyer beware if they want to risk Cutler again if he has a solid season. It’s like playing the devil at a card game. Jay might understand the Charlie Daniels Band’s song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Playing your fiddle for your soul type of deal. Meanwhile if Jay Cutler does well then he revives his football career. Plus he might win the lottery again with another big payday on the horizon.

Dolphins have an excellent running game. They have some play makers at the receiver position. They have a decent offensive line that could probably keep Jay Cutler standing upright. With new scenery. With a new cast of characters. With some old guidance this perhaps has a recipe of success. Usually players that leave Chicago always come back on another team and do very well. However this is Jay Cutler we are talking about and the Patriots are probably licking their chops on defense as Christmas came early this year -pick sixes for all of my friends.
