OUR BIGGEST PICK WE GOT RIGHT – THE FALL OF THE EVIL EMPIRE TO THE TITANS.
OUR DISAPPOINTMENTS
We were disappointed as we had the Bills and they had a 16 point lead in the second half to blow that versus the Texans did not go over well.
The Saints versus the Vikings, who saw that one coming? I think Viking fans did not see that one happening.
ROUND TWO DIVISIONAL
WE ARE BRINGING IN THE BIG GUN FOR ROUND TWO
JANUARY 11, 2020 SATURDAY GAMES
NFC GAME
VIKINGS(11-6) AT 49ERS(13-3)
The 49ers are the number one seed in the NFC. They had a week to chill out. 49ers clinched home field in the very last game of the season versus Seattle on Sunday night. Vikings are the lowest seed in the NFC playoffs. They will go on the road once again after doing so in round one winning in the Saints dome last Sunday. Kirk Cousins picked up his first playoff victory behind center. Can Jimmy Garoppolo do the same thing?
HISTORY
ALL-TIME RECORD BETWEEN THESE TWO TEAMS 23-23-1
ALL-TIME PLAYOFF RECORD BETWEEN THESE TEAMS
49ERS 4-1 VIKINGS
The Vikings were able to get two of their playmakers back for the Saints game last week. I thought if they did play they would be extremely rusty. Vikings offense ran Dalvin Cook a lot versus the Saints wearing that defense down to the nub. Vikings as a team ran 40 times compared to 33 passing plays. I expect more of that this weekend. 49ers defense encounters with rookie defensive line Nick Bosa. They have a guy that we all hate in Richard Sherman. The Dickhead Sherman with experience coming out of his pores being one of those A-holes from the Legion of Boom a few years back. This is a defense that can limit your strong suits.
Vikings on defense will have their hands full. The 49ers are very well balanced. Jimmy Garoppolo has a slew of weapons to choose from. Vikings I’m sure will try to stop the 49ers tight end George Kittle. Which could leave receivers like Emmanuel Sanders freed up. Vikings will have to keep their eyes out for rookie Receiver Deebo Samuel who has been emerging as a big threat. 49ers have a nice running game where they have two backs averaging over 5 yards a carry. Vikings can make things happen on defense and force some turnovers. Safety Harrison Smith could be assigned to take down Kittle. Vikings are geared to stop the run. They have a shaky pass defense but they did well versus the Saints offensive juggernaut.
49ers can win time of possession style of games. They can win a shoot out, but that’s not their style. These are two evenly matched teams that like to do the same thing. Like looking in the mirror at each other. I like the 49ers being at home. I think Jimmy Garoppolo will have a smooth transition to his first step into playoff football. Can Kurt Cousins win another big game on top of another big game? I see Kyle Shanahan coming out with a great scheme to beat the Vikings. His way of making up for the bad calling in that second half of the Superbowl where he was OC for the Falcons. Who allowed the Patriots to stampeded them back in that game. The coach is the X-factor which will help the 49ers dispatch the Vikings.
OUR PICK
OUR PREDICTION: 49ERS 27-17 VIKINGS
AFC GAME
TITANS(10-7) AT RAVENS(14-2)
The Ravens are the number one seed of the AFC conference. Titans just made the playoffs in the final week of regular season. Then last week they knocked out the Evil Empire, last year’s Superbowl champs the New England Patriots. In which could be the game that ends the Patriot dynasty. The Baltimore Ravens will be a different animal. The Ravens had the best regular season record in the entire NFL. They have this year’s MVP quarterback in Lamar Jackson who can run and pass.
HISTORY
ALL-TIME RECORD BETWEEN THESE TWO TEAMS
RAVENS 12-11 TITANS
PLAYOFFS RAVENS 2-1 TITANS
The Titans are a very well rounded team. Defense, offense and special teams… all three units do very well. The Titans could easily have a different record and seed if they started the season with Ryan Tannehill at quarterback. The Titans made the switch near mid season from Mariota to Tannehill and took off. The Titans offense has a stud back in Derrick Henry. Ravens defense which is not talked about a lot because of what Lamar Jackson does on the field. They will need to gang tackle Henry. Earl Thomas the safety will have to help stop the Titans’ deep passing game as well. Titans need to get a early lead. Ravens defense is used to having the early lead and never have to adjust and just attack the quarterback passing attack after they build a comfy lead.
The Titans defense have to figure out how to contain Lamar Jackson. Ravens have a great running back in Mark Ingram, former Saint that can do damage. The Raven running attack sets up the passing game for Jackson. Lamar Jackson has improved his passing game this season and is a guy that does not throw interceptions. If LamarJackson runs for more than 70 yards his record this year is unbeatable. Titans defense made the big play versus Tom Brady last week. Brady is a guy that does not run. Lamar Jackson can escape pass rushing blitzes and find the open guy or just run like Forest Gump. The Titans will need to force a fumble or two. The Titans will need to get in good licks when the Raven receivers catch the ball and hope for the ball to bounce out of their arms for an interception or two.
This is match up I thought a lot about. Thought about are the Titans an elite team or just a good team? Sometimes you see a team win so many games in a row and not see who they beat. Titans lost to the Saints late in the season. They lost to a Texans team late in the season when the division was in play and lost at home to them. They did beat the Texans in the last week of the season. The Texans had their back up quarterback in as they had nothing to play for. The Texans even though they won last week versus the Bills, I don’t think are a very good team. Maybe the worst remaining. The Patriots is a team on the decline so I pictured the Titans going into New England and winning. I can’t see the Titans doing that this weekend. Ravens’ Lamar Jackson will learn from the Chargers loss last season as he got his first playoff experience in that contest. I think the Ravens are just the better team in this contest overall.
The Buffalo Bills could easily be playing football next week in the second round of the playoffs. We know they blew a 16 point lead in the second half that cost them a victory in the wild card round. The team had some opportunities they did not capitalize on. Especially on the offensive side of the ball. We know the Bills defense is far more superior than their offensive unit. The BiIls’ offense is lights years better than the 2018 group. Do we even want to go down that road with Nathan Peterman? Bills made some nice improvements on the offensive side of the ball. Giving Josh Allen somebody to actually throw to in veterans John Brown and Cole Beasley. They added a new group of backs, tight ends, and rebuilt the whole offensive line. Josh Allen played in every game this season and now has some playoff experience as he has another year under his belt. One thing the Buffalo Bills need to add to this group is a bigger target for Josh Allen to throw to.
Josh Allen is 6’5″ tall. He has a power arm and can use his tree trunk legs and get chunks of yardages running the football. Most of the year all his receivers have been under six foot tall. Duke Williams, a former CFL star, was activated recently and played versus Houston. He had the ball thrown up high to him and could not pull it down as he stands at 6’3″ vertically. One missed opportunity in that game that cost the Bills points. Duke Williams is a guy who is still trying to establish himself in the NFL. Maybe he will get better. Cole Beasly is a nice slot guy to get the yards over the middle on third downs. John Brown, normally just a speed guy, has done a lot this year for the Bills. He has run all the routes and has made many catches. Led the team in all the receiving stats. One play that involved John Brown catching the ball down the side line where he could not get his feet down but caught the ball versus Houston on Saturday. If he gets his feet down, Bills are set up first and goal instead of an incomplete pass. A taller target in that situation can probably bring the ball down and get his feet down. He perhaps even walks into the end zone for the touchdown.
I’ve seen quarterback Jay Cutler for years take advantage of his inaccuracy and toss many touchdown passes to tall play-makers like Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall. You could say it padded Cutler’s numbers as he is one of the inventors of the pick six. Josh Allen has that power arm where he can throw it a mile. Sometimes he is off target. But to have a speed threat on one side in John Brown. Then to have Cole Beasley in the middle of the field. With an established taller play-maker on the other side, it could be the difference in making this offense into something like their superior defense. Josh Allen would complete more passes. Plus the team would score more points in the red zone on the jump ball. Not sure the Bills can address this need in free agency. Perhaps Justin Jefferson, a 6’3″ skyscraper with a big frame of 192 lbs from LSU could be the answer. A big time mismatch to defensive backs when it comes to length. His 102 receptions with 18 touchdowns gaining 1,434 yards has helped his quarterback Joe Burrows look better. A guy who you can throw a deep ball to and in the red zone that can grab it out of sky and bring it down. Another guy from UCF, Gabriel Davis, who also stands at 6’3″ had 12 scores and 72 catches. One of these guys would give Buffalo a weapon of mass destruction. Plus make others even better around him as John Brown can burn you deep or Cole Beasley over the middle. Plus it converts field goals into touchdowns which is simple math. If Buffalo could score 24 points or more per game, what would have been their record this year? Plus they’d be heading to Kansas City this week instead of calling it a year.
Everyone remembers Case Keenum’s pass January 14, 2018 where he connected on a 61 touchdown strike to Stefon Diggs. It was the final play of the game and the Saints defender Marcus Williams dove at his legs instead of wrapping him up and that was a touchdown that sent the Saints home. Another crazy ending that eliminates the Saints from post season.
The Saints are on a mission to rightfully correct things that have gone wrong versus them in recent years in the playoffs. They have the complete team and have the better record in regular season. Minnesota has some key injuries and a few playmakers that are doubtful to play. This is a playoff game and Kirk Cousins does not do well in big games when the spot light is on him. Plus he seems like he will have to carry his team in this contest and do most of the heavy lifting with an injury to the Vikings starting runningback. One key is I just don’t see the Viking defense slowing down the Saints passing game.
OUR PICK
OUR PREDICTION SAINTS 34-20 VIKINGS
GAME FOUR
SEAHAWKS AT EAGLES
Eagles again found their way to the playoffs with a winning streak at the end when they looked they were on life support. They won four in a row and win the NFC East. They come in at 9-7 and have the worst record in the NFC conference of playoff teams that have qualified into the tournament. Meanwhile Seattle finds their way to the wild card weekend losing to the 49ers in the final game of the season. If they would have won they would have won the division and had a home game instead of venturing off to Philadelphia this weekend.
The Eagles have too many of their playmakers sidelined in this contest. Eagles basically feasted on NFC East opponents to get to this weekend. Carson Wentz does not have that Nick Foles magic this team really needs right now. Seahawks history on the road was very bad in recent years. This year Seattle did better on the road than at home. The flight across the country will not affect them. Russell Wilson in my opinion could be the MVP this season. This guy is the Derek Jeter of football and does all the small things and finds a way to beat you. Seattle will end Philadelphia magic this Sunday.
This is a match up of two teams with bad playoff history. Houston has a lot of first round exits. Plus in a few of the games they have been blown out completely. The Bills suffered one of the worst droughts in sports not making it to the post season. In 2017 they finally broke that horrible streak. We Bills know the Bills history in the Superbowls. This is playoffs and not the Superbowl. Something has to give in this match up as one city will be a happy while one will live through another nightmare.
HOUSTON TEXANS
The return of JJ Watt for the Texans could be a huge lift for this team. Deshaun Watson is the biggest key if the Texans want to advance to the next round. Someone else besides DeAndre Hopkins will have to come up with some big plays to make this happen for the Texans. The Texans will need to protect Watson from that attacking front of Buffalo, which is the X-factor.
BUFFALO BILLS
For the Bills it’s been all about their defense this season. The trend will have to continue as they need to set the tone early and the whole game and put a stop to Texans offense. They need to stop Deshaun Watson from making plays with his feet, a huge key in this contest. Plus they need to contain DeAndre Hopkins and stop him from making a big play. Bills quarterback Josh Allen will need to make some plays for the offense as well. He needs to avoid the sacks that back up this offense at times. Look for Allen to take advantage of the Texans and make a few big plays with his feet. Frank Gore is my X-factor, he will do something big on the offense with a big run.
OUR PICK
I like the Bills in this one for a few reasons. Bills were 6-2 on the road this season. I think the Texans line is a weakness the Bills defense can exploit. Bills defense is good stopping the passing attack. Even with JJ Watt back, I think the Bills offense can score on that unit.
OUR PREDICTION BILLS 24-13 TEXANS
GAME TWO
TENNESSEE TITANS AT NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
The Titans have been one of the hottest teams in the league. They made the switch at quarterback from Marcus Mariota to Ryan Tannehill and the Titans took off. Titans then hit a few bumps in the road. But they continue to fight and it took the very last week to clinch a spot in the AFC. The Patriots have stumbled as well to the finish line. Losing to the Dolphins in the final week of regular season with something to play for. That loss has them now playing in the first week of the playoffs which that is not the norm in New England. This match up has Patriot blood versus Patriot blood. Head coach of the Titans, Mike Vrabel, is a former Patriot player who won three Superbowls with the Patriots. Played for Bill Belichick. Now he is coming into New England to slay his former head coach Bill Belichick and the Evil Empire.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Nobody schemes better than the mastermind of Bill Belichick. The Patriots will focus and stop their biggest threat Derrick Henry and the Titans running game. Patriots will rock the running game with all of their backs sharing the load. Look for Sony Michel to get the bulk of carries. The Patriots will use Julian Edelman the spark plug to convert third downs and get nice chunks on first down. Biggest X-factor Tom Brady has to step up his game and make some key passes to other people if Edelman gets double teamed.
TENNESSEE TITANS
Ryan Tannehill has to deliver the big plays with the passing game. Dolphins exploited corner back Stephon Gilmore last week with their passing game. The result is a Dolphin win. Derrick Henry should still find some success running against a shaky run defense the Patriots have. The Titans need to stop Edelman. You can force Brady into mistakes if you have his security blanket and spark plug in check. The Titans special teams is the X-factor making something happen.
OUR PICK
I’ve been down this road before. I think I will test this road until the Rebellion is successful versus the Evil Empire. I like the Titans to pull off the unthinkable. Patriots playing in the wild card round is very different then their norm. Bill Belichick has the usual two weeks to plot and rest before they play a playoff game. Patriots have been stumbling. The Titans are one of the hottest teams in the league. Even with the Titans two losses in the last three games, all were very tight games. Titans are a team that can beat you a few ways as well. They don’t make mistakes. I think head coach Mike Vrabel has seen what the Patriots did to Bill O’Brien’s Texan teams working on his staff. He has played for Bill Belichick as well. He can come up with something that will work.
We are remembering Sam Wyche, who passed away this week. Plus we get to insult the Cleveland Browns’ football IQ. At least they fired Freddie Kitchens. Now they can print up some new shirts for the Browns ownership just in case they make yet another bad hire.
“WHAT WE LACK IN INTELLIGENCE, WE MAKE UP WITH GOOD INTENTIONS”
We are throwing snowballs AT EVERYONE. We roll out the playoff power rankings for the 12 remaining teams.
#1.BALTIMORE RAVENS (14-2) Ravens are the hottest team in the NFL. They even beat a Steeler team trying to make the playoffs during the last week of the season with their back up RGIII. Many of their starters were resting and the Steelers did not do much. They conclude the regular season winning 12 in row. They have a first round bye and get to rest this weekend. Right now they are the scariest team in the playoffs. Nobody wants to play them. I think this Raven team is scarier than any of those crazy man Ray Lewis teams the Ravens did very well in.
Lets hope Lamar Jackson does not follow the same road of a Ray Ray.
#2.KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (12-4) The Chiefs are one of the hottest teams in the league, winning their last six games. They secured a first round bye. The Chiefs have one of the youngest stars in the league at quarterback. Patrick Mahomes has playoff seasoning from last season which makes this Chiefs team even better. We know their offense can get it done. This is a well coached team with Andy Reid as their head coach. The Chiefs defense has been on the rise all throughout the second half of the season which makes this team way more dangerous than last season. X-Factor picking up Terrell Suggs. Could be a weapon of mass destruction in the playoffs with lots to prove being cut by the Cardinals.
#3.NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (13-3) Saints find themselves playing on wild card weekend with a 13-3 record. The NFC conference is so loaded with talented teams. The Saints mission for redemption from last season’s mugging has to start somewhere.
Yes, they are on a Mission from God. So how much for the little girl? Saints have a chip on their shoulders. The opposing team to start things off is the Vikings who took a playoff game from them a few seasons ago with less than a minute on some fluke play. Then the referees last year did not blow the whistle after the Rams defender just raped the receiver. League did nothing. Even the challenge versus pass interference is bogus because of that game. Saints have demons, dragons, and closet monsters to overcome. They have the team. Will they succeed with them versus the World?
#4.SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (13-3)
The 49ers finally closed the door on their division on the final game of the season. With that win over Seattle, it also got the 49ers team a first round bye. 49ers either look like the best team in the conference at times or they can just lay an egg. It’s a solid team on both sides of the football. We will see what Jimmy Garoppolo can do in the playoffs. Will the experience be a factor playing on this level for the first time? Can Kyle Shanahan slay his past demons from his play calling in the second half of the Superbowl when he was the OC for Atlanta, and saw Tom Brady and the Patriots come back and take that game?
#5.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (11-5) They say cockroaches would survive a Nuclear war. That is the same thing for pond scum that we call Pete Carol. Seahawks can be in any playoff seed from top to bottom and they are creepy crawlers that just get bigger if you squirt raid on them.
Like in the episode of Taxi where Louey Depalmer had to get outside help to kill the cockroach that is Pete Carol. Seattle can win on the road like they did well this season. Road warriors seems the winning recipe in Seattle these days. As the home turf in coffee town is not the way it used to be. Russell Wilson is one of the best leaders in the game. Derek Jeter of the NFL. Does all the little things right and this team is so dangerous because they can find a way to beat you on any given Sunday.
#6.NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (12-4) The Evil Empire to me does not look like anything special this season. Tom Brady is not lighting up the score board. Death Star these days in New England is just a four banger motor, not the once upon a time V-8 gasoline sucker. The defense and the running game have saved them this season. Can they repeat and make it back to the Superbowl? Last year I said the same thing about this team. The Patriots in the playoffs are a different animal. This year the Evil Empire did not get the first round bye. They will be playing in wild card weekend. The whole galaxy is waiting for the fall of the Empire.
It would be heard around the world. However they still have the evil genius still leading the way and plotting a wrath of Khan through every NFL city.
#7.GREEN BAY PACKERS (13-3) Maybe it’s just the hate I have for the Packers that causes us to have them number seven in the power rankings. They have one of the best records in the league. They have secured a first round bye. Something is just not right with this team. They struggled to come back and beat a very bad Lion team in the last week of the season. The first round bye was on the line so they had something to play for. Then they lose to the Chargers in LA because they were hungover during the season. These days the Packers running game I’m scared of, more then Aaron Rodgers’ arm. The Packers defense has improved. Is it a scary unit? We do know Rodgers has a lucky horseshoe up his ass so big he wins playoff games in the last minute like he invented the last minute drive.
#8.BUFFALO BILLS (10-6) I’m old school at times. I believe great defense and great pitching in baseball win playoff games. The Buffalo Bills defense is electric. One of the best units in the playoffs.
The Bills defense puts their opponents in bad situations. In long yard situations. Bills are well coached and do not make mistakes. Bills can win games on the road. They will need more from their offense if they want to avoid going one game and out. Plenty of years where great defenses just wrecked havoc through the playoffs and the offense just did enough. That will have to be this team’s recipe.
#9.TENNESSEE TITANS (9-7) Titans to me are one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs. They have the great running back in Derrick Henry.
Love the way this guy lays out the stiff arms against opponents. The Rise of Ryan Tannnehill at quarterback made this team for real. They have fed off his leadership and play and the Titans’ lethargic offense became one of the league’s top powerhouses. Titans defense is a very good unit. The Titans special teams can change the momentum of a game. Can this team knock out the Empire in week one of the playoffs?
#10.HOUSTON TEXANS (10-6) The Texans go as far as Deshaun Watson can bring them. On offense this team can put points upon the board. On defense, the return of JJ Watt is what their defense can use right now.
A defense that has seen a young rookie in his second game, Drew Lock and the Broncos put up a 40 point beat down on the Texans. Watt’s presence will help improve that side of the ball. If he can make some big plays that is cherries on the sundae. On offense can they protect Deshaun Watson? Watson can do a lot with his feet and make broken plays look like one of the greatest highlights of the weekend. Can this team avoid that first playoff game exit?
#11.MINNESOTA VIKINGS (10-6) Vikings this year, I Iiked how they have a very balanced team on both sides of the football. Now the Vikings to me have too many big question marks with this team. Will Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook be able to suit up for this game? Vikings laid an egg versus the Packers on Monday Night right at the end of the season. A win there they could be in a different spot instead of a road game to New Orleans. That is the biggest question, can Kirk Cousins win the big game? Vikings like to take the ball out of his hands and run the ball more than pass with Cook in the back field. Then not to have his security blanket in Adam Thielen is very tough, but he could be getting used to it as he missed quite a few games. What can these two guys do banged up even if they do suit up?
#12.PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (9-7) The Eagles snuck through the back door again to make the playoffs again this season. Eagles take advantage of a bad division and beat up on their own division down the stretch to make it in. Eagles come in very banged up at the playmaker spots on offense. They had guys from the practice squad suit up. They probably had the beer man take a few handoffs. Do they have the Invincible scripted in their play books this weekend?
How many trick plays does Doug Peterson have? Will Nick Foles be suiting up for the Eagles this weekend? Carson Wentz will have to create some of his own Eagle magic if this team can escape wild card weekend with a victory. Wentz could be ….
Or Eagle fans will be on his door step after the game with pitch forks and torches.

BILLS AT PATRIOTS
It’s time to end the Evil Empire’s reign of terror for good. Bills, you think are due at some point.
OUR PICK:BILLS
RAMS AT 49ERS
Rams will put up a good fight. Like a caged animal ready to be put down kind of fight. At the end, Jimmy Garoppolo saves Christmas and gets the 49ers back on track.
OUR PICK:49ERS
THE SUNDAY SLATE
BENGALS AT DOLPHINS
Dolphins seem to have gone back to playing only one half. I’m going with the rifleman in this one. Andy’s last Christmas story in Bumbletown.
OUR PICK:BENGALS
STEELERS AT JETS
Steelers need a win to get that final wild card. The Steel defense has to be Ernest to save Christmas from the awful play of their own quarterbacks. When you have no Big Ben. You have a choice between a reindeer that gets hit in the head by his own helmet. Or a Duck that drives you quackers from his interceptions. Steel-town borrows a page out of Ernest’s play book.
OUR PICK:STEELERS
GIANTS AT REDSKINS
Looks like this match up has a changing of the guard at quarterback. Could Daniel Jones versus Dwayne Haskins be the new faces for years to come with these two young quarterbacks? I like the Redskins defense in this one. It will be the key in stopping the Giants big winning streak at one.
OUR PICK: REDSKINS
PANTHERS AT COLTS
Two teams that are desperate for a win around the holidays especially. Both teams had promising starts that have led into a disasterous second half of their season. One will be thrown off the building in this contest.
Unfortunately it will be Kyle Allen and not Cam Newton as Colts win this one.
OUR PICK: COLTS
RAVENS AT BROWNS
Two words….CLEVELAND STUPID…..
OUR PICK:RAVENS
JAGUARS AT FALCONS
Seems like Falcons are due for a let down here. Will the head coach of the Jaguars be the next to receive a lump of coal for Christmas? Jaguars won last week versus a Raider team that already has slot machines dancing inside their heads. Falcons should fly smoothly in this one.
OUR PICK: FALCONS
SAINTS AT TITANS
Titans were red hot until they got knocked off by the Texans. I think this team will still be shell shocked and lay another egg at home. Drew Brees is possessed and home field advantage is on his mind. The Saints do the jingle bell rock in country city.
OUR PICK:SAINTS
RAIDERS AT CHARGERS
Both teams have checked out at this moment. If you’d like to leave a message please do so after the beep… BEEEP. Chargers have no messages while Raiders fans think the number is for a bail bond. This game will be like the island of misfit toys if they played a pick up game of football.
Phillip Rivers is the gun that shoots jelly. While Jon Gruden is the cowboy that rides the ostrich.
OUR PICK:CHARGERS
LIONS AT BRONCOS
I’d like Drew Lock to rebound from last week and have another big game. Lions defense is horrible.
Does Matt Patricia above get a lump of coal in his pink slip on Black Monday?
OUR PICK:BRONCOS
CARDINALS AT SEAHAWKS
Seahawks need this one to stay afloat on top of the NFC West. They better not overlook the Cardinals with that rematch of the 49ers dancing inside their heads. Russell Wilson will take control of this contest and lead the Seahawks past the Cardinals.
OUR PICK: SEAHAWKS
COWBOYS AT EAGLES
The Eagles are too broken to sneak back into the playoffs. Cowboys have been on the struggle bus for a very long time until last Sunday. Not sure which Cowboys you’ll get. I’m thinking the ones that beat the Rams last week because all teams I hate, somehow win out and make it to the playoffs.
OUR PICK: COWBOYS
CHIEFS AT BEARS
Remember all the years in Chicago when it was the year without a Santa?
Santa would mean quarterback. Is Mitch Trubisky going to be the Bears future? He has played better. What if the Bears selected Patrick Mahomes who they could have gotten? Would Mitch be winning games in the playoffs for the Chiefs? While Patrick Mahomes, touched by the Bears, would be another quarterback turned to stone and being beaten up by opposing defenses across the league. Like the boogie man in Green Bay? You can say the Boogie man in that situation is Aaron Rodgers, not a Green Bay defense.
OUR PICK:CHIEFS
PACKERS AT VIKINGS
Vikings rising up and taking down the big cheese Aaron Rodgers on Monday night is a BOLD PREDICTION…. Can Kirk Cousins win the biggest game on one of the biggest stages where everyone is watching? Vikings defense makes this happen.
No, the New England Patriots did not make a uniform switch. However I noticed Red stormtroopers yesterday in the new Stars Wars movie. I was thinking they were special stormtroopers. Stormtroopers that were promoted. No they still have bad aim when the fire their weapons. Hoping you don’t get hit by one of their laser shots as we roll out WEEK 16, Stormtrooper style.
The snow stormtroopers in my opinion looked the coolest. Plus the white armor makes sense because they are in snow. Everywhere else these stormtroopers go, they stand out. No wonder the Evil Empire has fallen so many times. They can’t hold on to their own personnel.
#1.BALTIMORE RAVENS 12-2 (SAME) Ravens need one more win to clinch homefield advantage throughout the playoffs in the AFC. This week they play the Cleveland Browns who they have lost to earlier in the year. Cleveland is just one gigantic Jerry Springer show right now. Beating the Browns this week would give them two weeks to rest their injured players since the last game of regular season would not mean nothing versus the Steelers. Unless they want to knock out a division rival if Steelers are hanging on to their playoff lives and desperate to win that one. Home-field advantage means you do not have to go to New England or anywhere else. They come to them. Lamar Jackson will be waiting by the front gate.
#2.NEW ORLEANS SAINTS 11-3 (UP 2 SPOTS) The Saints quickly erased their memory from losing in a shootout to the 49ers, last Sunday. The Saints get everything back on track versus the Colts. It was the 10th year anniversary of the Saints’ Superbowl victory over the Colts.
Drew Brees has one of his perfect games with 4 touchdown passes and over 300 yards. With a performance like that he gets the team back on track for their Superbowl mission. Saints still in the run for home-field advantage. Playing the Colts with that performance he breaks former Colts he beat in the Superbowl and Bronco Peyton Manning for all-time touchdown passes thrown now at 539 as Brees is number one in many stat categories. The Saints defense got back on track holding a pretty good Colts offense to only a touchdown.
#3.KANSAS CITY CHIEFS 10-4 (SAME) Can a guy like Terrell Suggs help the Kansas City Chiefs defense?
Released by the Cardinals and was picked up by the Chiefs on waivers. Suggs said he would only play for the Ravens which was the team he was drafted by and called home, until this season where he left and signed with the Cardinals. You can see why he wanted to head back to the Ravens as they might be the beat team in the league. Talking to head coach, Andy Reid, Terrell Suggs is all about the Chiefs. Suggs was not hurt as he played every game for the Cardinals this season. Cardinals’ defensive unit was not the best in the league. Sometimes no winning or player around you can lower your normal numbers. Especially if Suggs took on double teams in Arizona. Suggs will improve the Chiefs defense who have been playing a lot better in the second half of this season. Actually one of the best units in the second half. It will give the Chiefs another guy to go after the quarterback. Suggs probably realized from Andy Reid that Patrick Mahomes is no slouch and Chiefs took down the empire and have beaten the Ravens with Lamar Jackson at quarterback.
#4.SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS 11-3 (DOWN 2 SPOTS) 49ers take a step backwards after they took over the steering wheel last week with the win over the Saints. The 49ers coming in to play the Falcons were ahead of their division and on the road to snag the home-field advantage. Before the 49ers could click their seat belt, the Falcons upended them. Sending them back to the back seat of the car where right now they are in the top wild card position looking up at the Seahawks who they play in week 17. First they have to take on the very desperate Rams team who are clinging on for their dear life. The Rams will be expected to play like an animal trapped in a cage. Ready to kill.
#5.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 11-3 (UP 1 SPOT)
Just like a snap of the finger, the Seahawks are back and first place in the NFC West with Josh Gordon for the season. Josh Gordon, once again his season will be cut short for violating the NFL substance policy. A wide receiver with a ton of talent still can’t get past the demons that continue to haunt him. Will the Seahawks kick the tires on an Antonio Brown? Seahawks again go on the road and come away with an important victory. One to rebound from the loss they suffered versus the Rams, and it gets them ahead of the 49ers once again.
#6.GREEN BAY PACKERS 11-3 (UP 3 SPOTS) Packers as usual own the Bears, especially bigger games when they meet with things on the line. Bears came in on a roll. They beat some bottom of the barrel teams. Took down Dallas when they were playing despicably. Did the Bears actually have a shot at the playoffs? Slim hopes, but the Packers are always willing to help pull the plug when the Bears are on life support. Great friend north of the border indeed.
Do you think Aaron Rodgers makes rugs out of former Bears quarterbacks? Above is a nice trophy of Jay Cutler skinned alive. He probably did not care. In the shed out back, Rodgers is like a serial killer with quarterbacks from the Bears of the past he played and slayed, just hanging. Mitch Trubisky will be the next victim. It’s that State Farm agent who gives Rodgers theses ideas.
#7.TENNESSEE TITANS 8-6 (DOWN 2 SPOTS) Did the Titans run out of gas right before the finish line? Titans came in as one of the hottest teams in the league and had a home game versus division rival, Texans. Texans came off a big loss the previous week. Titans find themselves in serious trouble losing a close one at home to the Texans. They have a big game versus the Saints this Sunday. Then they have a rematch with the Texans in week 17. If Texans win versus the Buccaneers, then Titans will need help if they lose to the Saints. They will hope the Jets prevail over Steelers. Plus hope the Ravens play their starters versus the Steelers in week 17. If Titans do not make the playoffs, it will be the loss to the Texans that derailed them. They were predicted as one of those scary teams nobody wants to play if the Titans do get in.
#8.BUFFALO BILLS 10-4 (SAME) Bills cemented themselves into the playoffs with their win over the Steelers. A team that at one time had a very long drought of not making the playoffs, has done so now 2 out of the last three seasons. Bills still can improve their playoff berth and go for the division title when they play the Evil Empire this weekend. Patriots won the first match up between these arch rivals. A win would give each team a split in the series and they would both have the same record. Last Sunday night, the Bills played duck duck goose forcing the Steelers quarterback to turn over the ball 4 times in a big win over the Steelers who were trying to leap frog the Bills in the wild card standings. Bills need to slay the Tom Brady dragon that has haunted this team way too long. Patriots lost at home and have lost two in a row. Bills have a good shot. Bills fans are excited about the playoffs. Plus, guys are even breaking away from the Empire to root on the Bills. Of course the rebellion are big Bills fans. Some have been waiting around a long time to get back to the big party in February.
#9. MINNESOTA VIKINGS 10-4 (UP 1 SPOT) Vikings absolutely destroyed the Chargers last Sunday. They made Phillip Rivers a slot machine as he gave up the ball multiple times. Rivers has been a jackpot for the whole league all season long. Did the Vikings victory come at a huge price?
Vikings runningback, Delvin Cook, was hurt in the game and never returned. This could be a big blow to the Vikings offense if he can not play this Monday night when they meet the Packers in Minnesota. Vikings have a chance to get the division with a win and both teams will have the same identical record after that with one game remaining on the schedule after the big bout on Monday night. Kirk Cousins needs a runningback especially in big games.
#10.HOUSTON TEXANS 9-5 (UP 1 SPOT) The Texans were absolutely humiliated by a rookie quarterback, Drew Lock, and the Broncos two weeks back. Texans redeem themselves by beating the Titans in Nashville in a game they needed. They rebounded from the loss and remain in first place in the AFC South at the same time. If they could go to Tampa this weekend and beat them, they might win the division if Titans lose to the Saints. Then that last game versus the Titans in week 17 will not mean anything.
#11.NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 10-4 (DOWN 4 SPOTS) The Evil Empire has lost two in a row. The Chiefs broke the Patriots 21 game home winning streak last Sunday. Can you imagine if the Bills come into New England this weekend and beat them to have a Patriot team lose three in a row? On the week the Rebellion once again take down the First Order Empire, or whatever they go by these days.
#12.PITTSBURGH STEELERS 8-6 (SAME) The Steelers had a chance to leap frog the Buffalo Bills in the Wild card standings but they were GOOSED. The Duck Devlin Hodges’ inexperience came out to play as Buffalo made him feel very uncomfortable on Sunday Night. He threw 4 picks and looked like an undrafted free agent. The Duck suffers his first ever loss behind center. Steelers have won 7 out of 8 since starting 1-4. Their three game winning streak comes to an end. Steelers still hold the second wild card spot, but they need to beat the Jets this week with the Ravens on deck after this Sunday. Ravens could and should have everything wrapped up so that game could be meaningless to the Ravens. Who knows… it’s always good to knock out a division rival so they don’t haunt you in the playoffs. The Steelers defense will feel the extra weight put on their shoulders the rest of the way.
#13.TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 7-7 (UP 3 SPOTS) The Buccaneers season, I could compare it to the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer has to stop wearing the jockeys. He does not like the feel of the boxers as they ride up on him. That is the same feeling with the Buccaneers season, they were wearing boxers and they were riding up – bunching up and uncomfortable. Once the boxers were removed from the equation things got better for Kramer, and the playoff hopes for the Buccaneers things got better too.
Now Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers are going commando, out there free and enjoying every moment of it. No playoff pressure and they have won 4 in a row. Last Sunday was the Lions they throttled. This weekend can they play playoff spoiler and knock off the Texans?
#14.LA RAMS 8-6 (DOWN 1 SPOT) Rams seem to be back on track these recent weeks. They took down Seattle. The defense was playing better. The offense was looking like last season as the team was scoring and moving the ball. Then they played Dallas, a team many thought were dead in the water. Cowboys hurt the Rams playoff chase with their beatdown. Rams made the score closer in garbage time. Rams need a lot of help if they want to sneak into the playoffs. The division title hopes will not happen. Rams will need the wild card route. They need the Vikings to go down in flames the next two weeks. Rams will also need to win out. The Superbowl loss and the hangover the following season, is for real.
#15.CHICAGO BEARS 7-7 (DOWN 1 SPOT) Bears had a chance to tie Green Bay at the very end of the game with the final play. It was not a Hail Mary pass. It was more of a short pass, catch the ball and keep flipping it back until you find the end zone. One more flip would have done it, but the man was tackled inside the five yard line. Bears would have still needed to convert a two point conversion to just tie the game to send it to overtime. If Aaron Rodgers was doing the same play for the Packers, it would have worked. Another year & another late game in the year where there’s a big game between the Bears and Packers with playoff implications on the line and Packers prevail. Bears are officially eliminated. I will be curious how Mitch Trubisky will do the rest of the year? The Bears play Chiefs and Vikings. Both teams looking to move up a seed or Vikings are trying to still get in the playoffs. Does Mitch play better with the playoff monkey off his back? If he does play well with no pressure, I think this team needs to get another veteran quarterback to compete with him next season. His struggles this season are why this team regressed after winning the division last season.
#16.ATLANTA FALCONS 5-9 (UP 4 SPOTS)
Remember Kyle Shanahan? Falcon fans sure do. He was the offensive coordinator for the Falcons when the Evil Empire made that epic comeback in the Superbowl. Many would say his play-calling in the second half of that Superbowl was the X-factor of the Patriots coming back and taking a Superbowl title that was in the Atlanta Falcons hands at the time. In a season going nowhere for the Falcons. Is a win over the 49ers, a team that Kyle Shanahan is the head coach of, worth anything to you? A little revenge dish served cold you can say. The Falcons’ upset knocked the 49ers to second place in their division. 49ers before the Falcons game were in command of the division after coming away with a huge win over the Saints. They were even eyeballing home-field advantage for which they were on the right path. Now with the loss to the Falcons, the Saints are back on track to get the home-field throughout. Sometimes you have to help your enemy to settle the score with others.
#17.PHILADELPHIA EAGLES 7-7 (UP 1 SPOT) If you are the Eagles, do you call up Jacksonville and make a trade to bring back Nick Foles? This is where Nick Foles is his best. The best part-time quarterback in the league and late in the season is when he shines. Eagles are limping to the finish line. They meet up with the Cowboys team that has been horrible until last week. Cowboys and Eagles square off this week with the division on the line. Eagles lost the first meeting between the teams. Carson Wentz has to play out of his mind and go Nick Foles all over the Cowboys for his own safety. Earlier in the year, they were burning Wentz jerseys. If he loses to the Cowboys twice, especially with the playoffs on the line, people in Philly will be banging on his door with torches and pitchforks. If Carson Wentz could lead the Eagles to the playoffs, with beer man lining up as one of the receivers, he will build his own little legacy. They say great quarterbacks make their receivers better.
#18.DALLAS COWBOYS 7-7 (UP 4 SPOTS) This is another team that just has too much going on outside the football stadium. Should Jerry Jones still be running all the day-to-day affairs for the Cowboys? Former Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman, was the one who criticized his former owner. Then you have the weekly chatter about Jason Garrett’s future like some soap opera on General Hospital. Should he be fired or not? Then Jerry Jones throws in his two cents as well. Cowboys finally broke a three game losing streak. The second one of the year they have been through. They killed the Rams who have a winning record. That’s a first for the year, a win versus a team with a winning record. Here we go again with this team. They play the Eagles this Sunday and a win they are in. Now with the win, everyone has a hard-on for this team as they are a team that should automatically be penciled into the Superbowl. They have talent, but they are not what they are hyped up to be. Why are the Cowboys on every week? Seriously you would think this team is from your city, as their broadcast appears more than your own team in the city you live in. It’s like Nazi propaganda as they sink thoughts in your brain about the Cowboy way and how they are the best team in the NFL.
#19.ARIZONA CARDINALS 4-9-1 (UP 5 SPOTS) It was Heisman vs Heisman and both went to the same university and played on the same team when they squared off against each other last Sunday. Kyler Murray vs Baker Mayfield who both played at Oklahoma University. Both of them went back to back years, winning the award. Cardinals win with a pretty good performance by their Heisman winner Kyler Murray. However it was Kenyan Drake that stole the show with his 4 touchdown day. All on the ground as he sliced and diced the Browns defense with his feet for 137 yards. Last time a Cardinal rushed for 4 scores was back in 1993. Rookie Ronald Moore in 1993 scored 4 TD’s in early December game when the team was known as the Phoenix Cardinals. Cardinals snap a six game losing streak. Kenyan Drake came over from the Dolphins in a mid-season trade broke a personal 14 game losing streak he was in both teams combined. Patrick Peterson snared his 25th interception of all-time.
#20.CLEVELAND BROWNS 6-8 (DOWN 5 SPOTS) Another clunker of a loss for the Browns. Baker Mayfield loses the Oklahoma Heisman bowl with him versus Kyler Murray of the Cardinals. Both were teammates and won the award in back to back years. With the Browns loss, the team is now 6-8 with two games remaining. Which will ensure yet another season the Browns will not have a winning season. That is a whole decade of losing seasons from 2010-19. They are the only NFL team during that span to come away with zero seasons of winning. Every other team at least has one or more seasons they could say they won more games than lost. More drama for the Browns. This time it’s Jarvis Landry and Freddie Kitchens having a heated exchange of words on the sideline late in the game last Sunday.
A Browns fan got a tattoo on his arm of the Myles Garrett incident versus the Steelers with the helmet swing coming down on Mason Rudolph’s head.
Mom would be so proud of her son.
#21.INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 6-8 (DOWN 4 SPOTS) First half success for the Colts after Andrew Luck retired, this team looked playoff bound. Then the wheels fell off the Colts bus and they have been in a tailspin the whole second half of the season. On Monday night, Colts looked like a beaten team. The white towel has landed on the canvas. It was the team’s fourth straight loss. They have lost six out the last seven games. The Saints needed to rebound and the Colts took the beating like a pledge student pledging for a frat house.
Drew Brees dished out the punishment. Jacoby Brissett has played well this year taking over for Andrew Luck. He has had some clunkers. Sometimes he’s more a game manager then a guy that will chuck the ball down the field and win you a game with his arm. The Colts just signed Chad Kelly to their practice squad. Kelly was cut in Denver for off-the-field issues last year. It might be time to unleash another Kelly into the league. Chad is the nephew of Hall of Fame quarterback, Jim Kelly. Chad has a big arm and he’s built like his Uncle Jim but probably taller. In college when Chad played and was not sidelined for off-the-field stuff he had flashes of NFL stuff. Who can get the best out of Chad? Colts Head Coach Frank Reich who is great friends with his uncle Jim. Plus he backed up Jim Kelly for years in Buffalo. Let’s see if they have a diamond in the ruff with two meaningless games left to throw him in to the mix. The kid deserves another chance.
#22.DENVER BRONCOS 5-9 (UP 1 SPOT) Drew Lock came back down to earth from his big game two weeks ago versus the Texans. Broncos could not do much versus a Chiefs defense as they only mustered up a field goal. At one point in the game, Travis Kelce had more receiving yards than the whole Broncos offense and it was into the 4th quarter. Weather conditions did not help either offense in this contest. In two games this year, the Chiefs outscored the Broncos 53-9.
Von Miller now just needs one more sack and he will be in the 25 of all-time at bringing quarterbacks to their knees.
#23.CAROLINA PANTHERS 5-9 (DOWN 2 SPOTS)
Christian McCaffrey is the first ever Panther to eclipse 200 yards from scrimmage which is the good. The bad is another loss by the Panthers. That is six in a row. Plus Kyle Allen continues to make mistakes in a three interception game. He’s forcing some plays and obviously trying to do too much where mistakes are occurring. Seattle got off to a good lead. The Panthers did come back and make this into a game. Now the ugly Cam Newton still wants to be the Panthers quarterback next season. Oh the humanity.
#24.WASHINGTON REDSKINS 3-11 (UP 1 SPOT) Washington is playing much better these days. You scratch your head over how a Eagle team, with many of their play-makers from the streets or the practice squad, beats you last Sunday in a shoot out. Dwayne Haskins is definitely improving behind center giving Redskins fans hope for next season. Haskins had two touchdown passes, one a 75 yard throw to Scary Terry McLaurin. Scary Terry, a nice bright spot this season, finished 5 grabs 130 yards with the TD. The Redskins made to battle the Eagles the whole way in this contest that meant a lot for the Eagles. A few field goals were made by the Redskins. On nice drives that were halted. You figure Haskins will eventually start turning more drives into touchdowns than just settling for the field goal. Adrian Peterson’s rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter ties the great Walter Payton for 4th with 110 ground assault scores.
#25.OAKLAND RAIDERS 6-8 (DOWN 6 SPOTS) Raiders take the plunge. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, I would say to the Raiders if I lived in Oakland. To blow a 16-3 lead in the second half to the crappy Jaguar team in the very last game in Oakland is just pathetic. Vegas or bust get out of Oakland.
Oakland and other mutant-looking toys, probably from the misfit island of toys, ends Chucky before he gets on that bus to Vegas.
#26.JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 5-9 (UP 1 SPOT)
The Godfather of the Jaguars organization. The first ever head coach of the franchise. He guided the expansion Jaguars to the playoffs for the first time ever. Tom Coughlin had a good run from 1995-2002. Some great teams they had during that span. Coughlin came back to the Jaguars after coaching the New York Giants for 12 seasons. He was hired as the Executive VP of football operations. Since the Jaguars were in the championship game a few seasons ago, the team has been in disarray. Jaguars fired Coughlin which should be a major house cleaning about to go down in Jacksonville. Tom Coughlin has that tough love leadership style. With the group assembled in Jacksonville being a bunch of thugs, it did not go well with players. Many fines passed out by Coughlin. Many grievances filed by the players to their union. The salary cap has major issues and it will take a major house cleaning. Perhaps they should get some dynamite and blow it up all together. Next on the agenda after the season, get rid of Doug Marone because he is useless. You need a fixer who can clean up this crime scene as they roll Marone out in a rug.
The Wolf could make these players disappear as well. The Jaguars need to sell what they can and get whatever draft picks teams will offer. A full rebuild is the only way.
#27.LA CHARGERS 5-9 (DOWN 2 SPOTS) Chargers still get people excited like when they throttled the Jaguars last week. The thought process has been see these are the Chargers from last season. It’s not happening and the Chargers from last year are gone. These are your new Chargers. Phillip Rivers had another three interceptions, as the Vikings did the same thing to what the Chargers did to the Jaguars a week ago. Plenty of mistakes all around for the Chargers. A very undisciplined group as stupid penalties continue. WHAT’S A MELVIN?
Melvin Gordon, a hold out before the season even started. Another two fumbles versus the Vikings. Mr. I want a new contract for more money which back fired in your face. Your lucky if a team next year gives you change from one of their couches they way he has performed.
#28.NEW YORK GIANTS 3-11 (SAME) Will Eli Manning’s farewell tour be like the Rolling Stones and continue to play every year? Eli Manning can not holster his football talent for years to come like musicians who can tour until the fans stop buying concert tickets. We don’t know if Eli Manning will return next season. If he does he would be in another uniform and could be destined to play a back up role. Last Sunday was his last home game for the Giants. Manning goes out on a high note as the Giants snapped a very long losing streak of nine games. Eli Manning brought down the house and gets a standing ovation right at the end. Manning, a two time Superbowl MVP, who has been a Giant for 16 seasons.
#29.NEW YORK JETS 5-9 (SAME) Jets got blown out by the Ravens last Thursday night. Many teams can say they had the same result. Jets did get 21 points in this contest in a short week on the last scheduled Thursday night game of the year. Jamison Crowder had two touchdown catches on six grabs for 90 yards. That is 5 total receiving touchdowns in 2019 for Crowder. In a roller coaster year at times where Jets play well and/or just lay duds, Crowder might be a piece in place with the young second year quarterback in Sam Darnold. Jets run defense is a strength as well. Is running Le’Veon Bell right for the future? Getting rid of him would open up a chunk of salary on the cap. Is head coach Adam Gase the right guy to bring this team from the bottom to be competing every week and beyond? Some off season stuff on the Jets to do list. They need to find themselves with some heavy thought processes.
#30.DETROIT LIONS 3-10-1 (DOWN 2 SPOTS) Lions have dropped seven in a row. They lost 10 out of their last 11. Buccaneers piled up 38 points on the Lions’ weakest link… the defense. Lions were in the game, but after a slow start come back, then the wheels fell off was the format in this one. Former Lion’s son Breshard Perriman plays for the Buccaneers and had his best game of his short career versus his dad’s old team.
Brett Perriman played for the Lions in the 1990’s and he was one of the greats as a receiver in the NFL and the city of Detroit. He is suffering from dementia these days. His son had a monster day hauling three touchdown passes just like some of the games his father had wearing sliver and blue. Lions always had some great receivers watching them play the Bears all these years, twice a year. Herman Moore was on the other side of Brett Perriman and was just a tall skyscraper on the field.
Moore could go high in the air, grab most balls away and beat his defender. Lions always loved the tall receivers as fans will remember Calvin Johnson aka Megatron who they drafted later on. Johnson went on to have a hell of a career himself.
#31.MIAMI DOLPHINS 3-11 (DOWN 1 SPOT) What ever happened to “I’m taking my talents to south beach?” Does that not apply to football and the Miami Dolphins? The one talent Miami Dolphins do have and is worth building around, is their wide receiver, DeVante Parker.
The Dolphins extended Parker’s contract which will keep him in Miami. He scored two touchdowns last Sunday. Dolphins were back to play, only one half of the football mentality last Sunday as they had the halftime lead. Then in the second half they got blown out.
I think next year the league should assign Ryan Fitzpatrick to play for the Patriots next season to punish them for yet another scandal. He becomes their starting QB for the whole year. This will get those dirty cheating bastards to stop their Big Brother eye in the sky campaign. Plus it gives Ryan Fitzpatrick a jersey from each team in the AFC East as he would have played for them all at one point or another in his long career.
#32.CINCINNATI BENGALS 1-13 (SAME) Are the Bengals playing better football these days? Why is the Evil Empire like Big Brother watching the Bengals and taping them?
Bill Belichick and those perverts over in New England are not even watching the good stuff – THE CHEER LEADERS. The Football team has you wasting digital space with your camera.
Meanwhile Bengals are still holding down the number one draft pick with their loss to the New England Patriots. They played well in the first half. In the second half it seems like the Patriots knew what play the Bengals were going to run. Like if Billy Boy was in the huddle with the Bengals or called it in himself.
Our picks the last two weeks feel like we brought a gun to a night club and shot ourselves in the leg, foot, you name it.
THURSDAY NIGHT RECORD: 10-6
MONDAY NIGHT RECORD:11-3
WEEK 15
THE THURSDAY GAME
JETS AT RAVENS
It just is not fair.
OUR PICK:RAVENS
THE SUNDAY SLATE
PATRIOTS AT BENGALS
You feel like the Bengals are just a sacrificial lamb this week for the Evil Empire.
OUR PICK:PATRIOTS
BUCCANEERS AT LIONS
Lions have no courage. Buccaneers quarterback has no brain. Buccaneers are the hotter team. Follow the yellow brick road.
OUR PICK:BUCCANEERS
TEXANS AT TITANS
Titans are one of the hottest teams in the league. These two teams face each other twice in the next two weeks which will make it very interesting to see who wins the division. Seems like the home team has the better record when they face each other. Denver offense lit up the Texans defense in a rout.
OUR PICK:TENNESSEE TUXEDO
BRONCOS AT CHIEFS
Love how Drew Lock has played last two games. Chiefs defense is responding especially versus the Evil Empire. They did a very nice job limiting Tom Brady. Chiefs eyeballing that second seed and first round bye.
OUR PICK:CHIEFS
DOLPHINS AT GIANTS
Eli Manning’s farewell tour comes home to Jersey. Janoris Jenkins has a time out and is sent home for calling somebody a retard on the twitter.
The Giants cut him from the team. What would the Giants have done if Mr.Jenkins said the retard word like how the guys say it in the movie hangover?
OUR PICK:DOLPHINS
EAGLES AT REDSKINS
Beer guy delivers as the Eagles sign him up as one of their wide outs. Eagles gut another one out. It’s their time to sneak back into the playoffs, which is what they do.
OUR PICK:EAGLES
SEAHAWKS AT CAROLINA
Panthers have hit rock bottom. They have fired their coach. I’m sure Cam Newton is smiling seeing his team go down in flames when he’s sidelined with an injury.
OUR PICK: SEAHAWKS
BEARS AT PACKERS
The rise of the Mitch Trubisky. Can he slay the Bears’ dragon, the Packers? I would love to see it. I will root on for the Bears to just shred the cheese. Mitch Trubisky has beaten crappy teams since playing well. Bears always lose big games late in the season that mean something to them. History tells me Packers. Heart says Bears.
OUR PICK: PACKERS (HOPE I’M WRONG)
VIKINGS AT CHARGERS
All of a sudden, Phillip Rivers is back to playing well. The whole year we’ve seen him play like Ryan Leaf. Now he’s going to get his act together. He lit up the Jags. The Jaguar players are making vacation plans they don’t care about anything. Vikings need this game to keep treading water in hopes they can get even in their big rematch versus the Packers.
OUR PICK: VIKINGS
JAGUARS AT RAIDERS
The last game at the black hole. Jaguars are playing uninspiring football. Raiders win one for the Gipper, their Darth Vader, the guy in the scream mask and all the biker gangs. This one is for you.
OUR PICK: RAIDERS
BROWNS AT CARDINALS
Browns win as more drama is to follow.
OUR PICK: BROWNS
LA RAMS AT COWBOYS
Rams defense is playing well. The Rams offense is showing flashes of their high octane offense of last season. While Elliot Ezekiel is getting..
LARGER!!! Cowboys are just waiting for the rematch with the Eagles, where they will actually play well.
We were dealt a bad hand hand in week 15. All Jokers as we roll out week 15 power rankings.
#1.BALTIMORE RAVENS 12-2 (SAME) Last Sunday the Ravens clinched a playoff spot with that win over Buffalo. They played two good teams in back to back weeks and won both of them by one score, one on the road and one at home. On Thursday night they went back to their regular programming in throttling the Jets to now clinch the AFC North division. That’s the Ravens’ 10th consecutive victory in a row. Lamar Jackson continues his mastery of the quarterback position. Taking the position to a whole new level. He had another 5 touchdown passes versus the Jets. Which gives him 33 for the year. That is tops in the NFL. Jackson ran for another 86 yards on the ground and breaking the dog killer’s single season rushing mark as a quarterback.
Lamar Jackson now has 1,108 yards rushing compared to Mike Vick’s old record set in 2006 with 1,039 yards. Baltimore now will face Cleveland to wrap up home-field advantage next Sunday. Browns beat the Ravens earlier in the season.
#2.SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS 11-2 (UP 2 SPOTS) A few weeks ago people were talking like the 49ers could be the scariest wild card opponent. 49ers had a 3 game stretch versus very tough opponents and they went 2-1 losing only to the Ravens which was a field goal as time expired. The 49ers did that to the Saints last Sunday as they won this season’s ultimate shootout 48-46 in the dome in New Orleans. Robbie Gould is money once again. Did the Bears cut him?
Gould kicks the game winner as they take down the Saints in a game that could be just a preview for what is coming down the road in the playoffs. I could see this being a NFC championship game in January. It was a game that had great offenses but both teams have do have pretty good defenses. Defense was obviously thrown to the curbside in this one. Meanwhile the 49ers now can concentrate on getting home field advantage as they have the leg up in the NFC.
#3.KANSAS CITY CHIEFS 9-4 (UP 3 SPOTS) Was the Evil Empire behind sending the Chiefs equipment to New Jersey? You have to wonder what evilness lies deep inside the Empire. The Chiefs got their equipment and then brought down the Empire on their home field. Chiefs end a 21 game home win streak, the Patriots had going in regular season and playoffs. Chiefs defense was amazing as they held Tom Brady to only 169 yards passing and forced him to throw off target most of the afternoon with pressure in his face. The Chiefs built a 20-7 lead. They held on even with some bad calls. One play in particular the Patriots should have had a touchdown. Billy Boy used his challenges earlier on small potatoes and was out of challenges. Chiefs with the Raiders loss also win the AFC West. Patrick Mahomes is the third quarterback this season to finally get his first win over the hated Patriots. Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson were the other two QB’s who did in the Patriots this season.
#4.NEW ORLEANS SAINTS 10-3 (DOWN 1 SPOT) The Saints mission seems to have gotten a tad complicated. The rise of the 49ers this year looks a lot more scary then the LA Rams of last season. The Saints went toe to toe with the 49ers in a shootout. They lose a tough one at home in the last seconds by a game winning field goal. The problem is Saints would of liked to get home field advantage throughout the playoffs. But now they find themselves looking up at the 49ers by a game. Plus the 49ers have the tie breaker beating the Saints. Saints also have some defensive personnel out with injuries for the season. Defensive end Marcus Davenport and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins are big blows in the trenches for this team. The Saints will have to really out score their opponents and hope the defense can force a few turnovers. It’s a shame because the Saints defense were playing very well this season. Probably the best defense Drew Brees has ever had in his time in New Orleans.
#5.TENNESSEE TITANS 8-5 (UP4 SPOTS) Titans win their 4th straight game in a row. They destroy yet another team as they put up another 40 point performance this time versus the Raiders. Since Ryan Tannehill took over, the Titans are 6-1 in seven games as a starter. Titans are second in the NFL with 31.4 points per game average when Tannehill is the quarterback. Titans now are tied with the Texans for the division. The Titans and Texans square off this weekend and in week 17. Titans will be very scary to play in the playoffs the way they are playing right now.
#6.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 10-3 (DOWN 4 SPOTS) Seahawks lost their first game on the road this season to the the Rams last Sunday. Every team goes through the year where they lay an egg. Seattle played their worst game of the year scoring only 12 points. Only touchdown the Seahawks scored was a defensive score by an interception early in the third quarter by Quandre Diggs who ran it back 55 yards. The Rams defense pressured Russel Wilson all night. Seahawks now find themselves one game behind the 49ers in the division. They do play the 49ers once more this season. Right now they have the top wild card spot.
#7.NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 10-3 (DOWN 2 SPOTS) I feel a disturbance in the force in a good way. The return of the Jedi is Patrick Mahomes.
Chiefs give the New England Patriots their first loss at home in 21 games. Patrick Mahomes, the young Skywalker Jedi Knight, finally gets his due and wins his first battle over Tom Brady. The Patriots have suddenly lost two in a row. The home crowd boos. AS the Empire storm troopers suddenly look weak.
#8.BUFFALO BILLS 9-4 (SAME) Buffalo gave the Ravens a battle. Bills had a chance at the very end to tie the game on the last drive. Ravens held on. Ravens won by one score 24-17 and clinched a playoff spot. Buffalo defense is for real and contained a Raven defense that has been destroying teams in the 40’s . They held the Ravens in check and the offense could not get it done at the end. It took awhile for the Bills offense to get things going in general as they settle for field goals in the first half. In the second half the offense did come to life and Cole Beasley found the end zone once again. At the end they could not pull it out against the top team in their conference. You still have to applaud the effort. Buffalo nation is nervous but should be proud.
#9.GREEN BAY PACKERS 10-3 (UP 1 SPOT) Green Bay plays another cupcake. They played a close one with the Redskins. Green Bay prevails and it was not Aaron Rodgers who did the damage on the offense. It was the Packers running game. The other Aaron. Aaron Jones ran 134 yards and a score. He caught six passes for 58 yards. It was Aaron Jones’ third 100 yard game this season. Rodgers was good but not awesome off the charts. Some say if you stop Aaron you can stop the Packers. They say Aaron the running back not the quarterback. Can they hold their mastery over the Bears this weekend? Vikings are still on their heels with one more match up versus them as well.
#10.MINNESOTA VIKINGS 9-4 (UP1 SPOT) Vikings have been riding some rough waves lately. They are still looking up at the Packers. Lots of teams are gathering momentum late in the season and are breathing down their necks to try to overtake this Viking team for the wild card. Vikings have been treading water and were glad to meet up with the Lions. Lions without Matthew Stafford. Lions with a bad defense. It’s nice to get all the wrinkles ironed out versus a team like the good ole Lions. The defense shut out the Lions all the way until the last two minutes of the game. The offense you want to do better than 20 points. But a win gets them back treading water in the same position they were in a week ago, but they might feel a little bit better about coming off a win than a loss. Can they play the Lions three more times to conclude the season?
#11.HOUSTON TEXANS 8-5 (DOWN 4 SPOTS )
Nothing ever goes smooth for the Houston Texans. Things were looking good for them. The Colts are out of their lives now that the Titans have become a major problem and they have the same record as the Texans. Both teams play each other twice in the final two weeks. It was not that long ago which seems like light years now that the Texans beat upon the Patriots. Then a rookie quarterback Drew Lock and the Denver Broncos steamrolled the Texans last weekend in a rout. Titans are one of the hottest team in the league as they routed Oakland. Could the Texans be in for a major tailspin right at the end of regular season and lose everything they gained so far?
#12.PITTSBURGH STEELERS 8-5 (SAME) Steelers not releasing that second wild card spot any time soon. Steelers get their 7th win in the last 8 games. Steelers got a special teams score on Diontae Johnson’s punt return touchdown.
The Duck has become a dynasty in Pittsburgh so far. He had a touchdown pass and made no mistakes as he was almost perfect for the 16-19 152 yards. It’s the Steelers defense that has been the big part of all these wins. They are a turnover machine. They forced three interceptions stopping key drives by Kyle Murray and the Cardinals.
#13.LA RAMS 8-5 (UP 2 SPOTS) Rams keep their playoff hopes alive with big win over the Seahawks. They gave Seattle their first road lost of the season. They have won 5 games out of their last seven. The Rams had a very aggressive game plan especially on defense. The Rams defense brought everything which included the kitchen sink at Russell Wilson. The Rams were in his face all night. They sacked him 5 times. Jared Goff had a nice night even though he threw two interceptions. But Rams defense was able to overcome his mistakes by stifling the Seahawks offense. Goff did throw two TD passes, one to Gary Woods his first of the season. The other to Cooper Kupp. Rams now face a bad Cowboys team that has been in tailspin forever it seems.
#14.CHICAGO BEARS 7-6 (UP 2 SPOTS) Bears have won three in a row. Mitch Trubisky has risen from the graveyard as he pronounced dead only weeks ago with a toe tag on his big toe. Now it’s time to slay the dragon that has haunted your team for decades now. Bears beat an even Steven team in Dallas last week. Lions twice and the Giants as they got themselves back in the conversation about playoffs. They have Akiem Hicks coming back from a injury that has sidelined him for weeks
He’s a big cog in that Bears defense which will make them much better with his presence alone on the field. It’s time to slay the Packers this Sunday in Green Bay. I need to see Mitch Trubisky play well versus a rival.Versus a playoff bound team. Green Bay checks all those boxes. A lost season over for the Bears. This game will also determine the faith of Mitch Trubisky as well. If he struggles then you have to bring in a veteran next year. Even if he does well I might still bring in someone else because that solid defense has only a small window. Roller coaster play at the most important position is not going to help, especially if the QB may be the weakest link on your team.
#15.CLEVELAND BROWNS 6-7 (DOWN 2 SPOTS) Even though the Browns won the game, they were totally outplayed by the Bengals last Sunday. Bengals beat the Browns in every stat except the score. When the Browns do win, something else always overshadows it. This time OBJ Drama. Does Odell Beckham Jr. want out of Cleveland?
Odell arrived in Cleveland this off season. The Browns had high hopes with what they built last season in the second half as they were winning games. Playing good football. The hope was with the additions they got it would put this team back in the playoffs. The Browns have turned into those old Cincinnati Bengal teams that had all the misfits on them. Bengals were able to win games and at least make it to the playoffs and lose in the first round. Browns have all the misfits and the coaching is unable to gel all these personalities together. The lock room is divided with a cancer outbreak. Bengals back then had a better coach in Marvin Lewis than the stupid person the Browns have standing on their sideline.
#16.TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 6-7 (UP 4 SPOTS) Are your Spidey senses telling you something about Jameis Winston?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be missing the playoffs for the 12th season in a row. Right now the Buccaneers are one of the hottest teams in the entire league. They have won three in a row. They have won 4 out of their last 5 games. Plenty of things that will need to be addressed this off season. You have to give Bruce Arians credit for his first season coaching in Tampa Bay. They have a high powered offense but they turn over the ball way too much. Turnovers don’t help your defense’s numbers. Are teams cashing in on turn overs especially if the team is set up right by the goal line or in the red zone? The Buccaneers have not made up their mind about Jameis Winston yet. He’s second in passing yards but first in turnovers. Winston has 38 turnovers all by himself. Twenty three of them are interceptions. He threw three more last Sunday. One for a pick six. However Winston threw 4 touchdown passes in a big win over the Colts in a high scoring affair. Can the Buccaneers find a guy that can pass and be in the top ten ranking of passing yards without turning over the ball like Winston does? If you subtract the turnover machine will it help the defense?
#17.INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 6-7 (DOWN 3 SPOTS) Colts have no luck at all these days. Besides losing Andrew Luck before the season started as he retired the team started off well. They went 5-2 in their first seven games. They were in first place. They have now dropped to third place. They even saw the rejuvenated Titans pass them up in the standings. Bad kicking game has haunted this team this season. The team has leads late in games and they can’t make enough plays to stop the other team to get off the field. Mentally something inside this team’s head is not able to overcome.
Last week a game versus the Buccaneers, a team you can beat. They built a 10-0 lead on them. They forced some turnovers. They had Marlon Mack from an injury. They had a new kicker, Chase McLaughlin, who made two field goals in the game. Jacoby Brissett’s completion ratio could have been better but no mistakes and he threw two touchdown passes. Then a missed field goal that bounced off the uprights. That could of extended the lead and made it a harder time for the Buccaneers to come back. But Buccaneers came back and won it. Throw in the towel they have New Orleans next who came off a tough loss last week.
#18.PHILADELPHIA EAGLES 6-7 (UP 4 SPOTS) How many weeks did it take to finally see either the Cowboys or the Eagles win a game? Eagles did it on Monday night ruining Eli Manning’s farewell tour. Eagles snap a three game losing streak. It took overtime and a comeback down 14-0 to finally dispatch one of the worse teams in the NFL. Eagles were down to only one healthy receiver when all this was set game match. Tight end Zack Ertz had to line up as wide receiver. Eagles have been using practice squad players to fill in on key positions especially with the playmaker spots. Eagles and Cowboys both have the exact record at 6-7. Cowboys hold the tiebreaker because they beat the Eagles earlier in the season. Both teams play in week 16. This Sunday Rams play the Cowboys while Eagles play the Redskins who have been playing a lot better. Can Eagles even be able to function with all the injuries piling up. Week 16 might settle the division. The worst in football. Will the team that wins the NFC East even have a winning record?
#19.OAKLAND RAIDERS 6-7 (DOWN 1 SPOT)
Before Chucky Gruden destroys your Barbie Dolls and GI Joe figures, he has said changes will be made to his squad next season. The Raiders slide continues as they played a good first half hanging with the Titans. Then they were destroyed in the second half. Another loss another blow out. Tale of two cities is what describes the Raiders. Oakland to Vegas. Then the first half great football and the second half nothing but crap. Was hoping playoffs for the Raiders. Give the Black Hole faithful in Oakland a good season before they pack their bags up and move to sin city and find another bunch of soccer hooligans. We salute some of the Raider fans on this blog.
#20.ATLANTA FALCONS 4-9 (UP 2 SPOTS)
Good ole number 84 Roddy White makes it into the ring of honor for the Falcons. He was honored at half time last Sunday. Who the hell is the OZ?
OZ aka Olamide Zaccheaus, caught one pass last Sunday. However it was a biggie fry style of a catch. A 93 yarder for a score. Matt Ryan’s career longest touchdown pass. Atlanta has a losing season going in 2019. They have some winning records. The Falcons are 2-0 versus the Panthers this season. Plus they are 3-2 in their own division.
#21.CAROLINA PANTHERS 5-8 (DOWN 4 SPOTS) Panthers fired Ron Rivera like he was the scapegoat of this Panther team being flushed down the toilet. With Atlanta up and down, I figured the firing of Ron Rivera would get the troops to rally and come out with a win for him and the interim coach. Maybe the bad feelings in the locker room with River Boat Ron are still lingering and they really don’t care about ownership. As they were torpedoed by the Falcons on Sunday in a rout. Perry Fewell the interim coach has his work cut out for him. Who knows Perry may flee Carolina and meet up with Ron Rivera where ever he lands.
#22.DALLAS COWBOYS 6-7 (DOWN 3 SPOTS) Looks like the Cowboys are not very good against 500 team records either. They lose their second consecutive Thursday games. They have lost 7-10 when they started 3-0. Ezekiel Elliot should just stop feeding himself whatever crap he’s spewing down.
Notice he has a gut there. Elliot’s 5th straight game that he has ran under 100.
If the Ezekiel Elliot Bus, the short bus, goes under 50 yards, does it blow up is the question.
Or is the season already done in a nice fiery ball explosion. Jerry Jones should fire himself. The Cowboys need a new kicker who has 10 misses this season already. In a bad division they are still alive. They are lucky the Redskins have been eliminated since they were my sleeper pick.
#23.DENVER BRONCOS 5-8 (UP 3 SPOTS) Could it be John Elway finally found his quarterback?
In his first start of his career Drew Lock beat the Chargers. He had a very good game. In his second career start he beat a team at the top of their division. A team that just took down the Evil Empire. A team that beat its rival. This was not a close game like the Chargers. Drew Lock threw for three touchdowns over 300 yards in a rout of the Houston Texans. Drew Lock and the Broncos built a 38-3 lead at one point. I knew Vic Fangio would get the defensive side of the ball playing better for the Broncos. If Broncos have found their quarterback this team is on the rise. Where will Joe Flacco go now? Drew Lock’s wristband of plays, teammates of his said he has that Buzz Light year look going for him when he played the Chargers. The wristband that could shoot lasers like Buzz. Broncos continued that fun with that every time he threw for a touchdown.
#24.ARIZONA CARDINALS 3-9-1 (DOWN 3 SPOTS) Kyler Murray has been regressing late in the season. Three interceptions versus the Steelers last Sunday. That’s 4 Int’s in two weeks for the rookie quarterback. He threw one of them very late in the game with the team driving for the game winning score. It was desperation heave at the time. Despite a bad game this kid makes mistakes but keeps the team in the game.
The Cardinals defense does not fair well versus the pass. However on defense they have one guy that is playing with a high motor and able to get after the opponent’s quarterback. Chandler Jones forced his sixth fumble of the year last Sunday. It was also his 14th sack of the season as well. Chandler Jones since arriving in Arizona has played in 61 games and has 55 sacks all together. A few pieces on defense and offense this team could take a leap. They have some pieces in place now.
#25.WASHINGTON REDSKINS 3-10 (SAME) Redskins have been playing the best football in their entire division. It’s too bad they can not represent that division in the playoffs which would give everyone hope from the NFC East than the Cowboys or the Eagles. The Redskins played Green Bay tough in cheese country. The outcome was the usual with another loss and a season with double digit losses. Plus the Redskins have been eliminated from the playoffs. Adrian Peterson in this contest ran for 76 yards and found the end zone. That gives Spanky enough yards to reach the 14,000 rushing yard club. Only six backs have reach that club. Redskins always get some followers I imagine. Outside the stadium 30-40 protesters rallied about a future name change.
I thought the name change had been dying down as I have not heard much about it in the news in a very long time. Perhaps playing under the radar like the Redskins do, not winning or making waves to the point they don’t even exist. They can change the logo and put Donald Trump’s face on the helmet. This way they insult all nationalities instead of just the Native Americans.
#26.LA CHARGERS 5-8 (UP 2 SPOTS) Did someone put something in Phillip Rivers’ oatmeal before game time? Mashed some blue pills with some strawberries. By far his best game of the season. No Interceptions. Rivers throws three touchdowns and for over 300 yards on his 38th birthday. Against an uninspired Jaguar team. Give the man an extension. He can play until he’s 43 years old. Chargers rout the Jaguars and throw 45 points on the board. The team rises from the graveyard when they are officially eliminated from the playoffs. Not buying what they are selling. Phillip Rivers did complete a 84 yard pass play for a touchdown to Austin Ekeler, which was the longest completion Phillip Rivers had in his career of 16 years.
#27.JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 4-9 (DOWN 3 SPOTS) Once upon a time ago Jacksonville Jaguars had a stellar defense. They made the playoffs with a bad quarterback because they had such a stout unit. GONE… Then the team goes out and pays Nick Foles, the legend in Philadelphia, to be the man behind center. Remember Foles is the best part time quarterback in the league. Foles injures himself the very first game. Then they put in Gardner Minshew and he does well. Jaguars bench him in favor of healthy Nick Foles as he returns several weeks later. Foles turns to stone. Minshew fills in for Foles who is very rocky and the comeback falls short in a pretty good performance coming off the bench. Last week versus a crappy Charger team who would gift wrap you a win then beat your team destroys the Jaguars. Yes the Chargers come back from being on life support all year it’s a miracle. Where do people from Florida go on vacation? The while flag is flying in Jacksonville as the team as a whole played very poor and uninspired football. Only one person who can turn his whole team into stone. Head coach Doug Marone.
Han Solo came out of his carbonite state. I’m sure the Jaguar players will come out of their hibernation for the new coach. Doug Marone after the game slumped over his desk. He knows the end is near. Desperate backed in the corner as his football life flashes by.
#28.DETROIT LIONS 3-9-1 (DOWN 1 SPOT) Can the Lions say Ron Rivera?
If I were the Lions first thing on the Christmas list is get rid of that fat slob you hired from the Evil Empire. Matt Patricia is a dead branch off the Belichick weeping willow. He has went 9-19-1 record as a Lions coach. He is now 2-5 in the NFC North losing to the Vikings. Last Sunday the Lions played their first game of 2019 without once having a lead in the game. It’s bad coaching if your team does not know how to step on the opponent’s neck when your winning. Then to lose all those games when you are winning. River Boat Ron improves that crappy defense of the Lions in an instant. Matt Patricia by trade a defensive coordinator perhaps the reporter he told once to sit up straight and quit slouching would say Patricia is just a cup cake expert by trade. Food and coaching philosophy.
#29.NEW YORK JETS 5-8 (UP 1 SPOT) My mother always told me if you can’t make school, during the weekend you’re staying home until you feel better. Le’Veon Bell was ruled out of Sunday’s game with the flu. On Saturday night Bell felt well enough to go bowling on the eve of a Sunday game. He says he bowled a career high that night, a 251 breaking his old mark of 238. Bell who signed with the Jets in the off season a 4 year deal of 52.5 million has not quite done well in his first year wearing the green colors. Bell is only averaging 3.2 yards a carry. He’s on a very bad team. They were playing a very bad team at their own level. This is a guy that did not like the contract and held out in Pittsburgh. He now has the money and holds out during a game. I’m sure he did go to the game and support his teammates and watch on the sidelines.. This was OK with head coach Adam Gase. These are not the players that will help a younger team right now and next season. Not even sure why the Jets signed this dirt bag in the first place. Gaping holes on the roster and to sink that type of money into a bad character type of guy is just pathetic.
#30.MIAMI DOLPHINS 3-10 (DOWN 1 SPOT) The Miami Dolphins can probably check off the box they have a kicker. His name is Jason Sanders and he set a Dolphin record last Sunday with seven field goals. Maybe they can pass on their kicker recipe to the Bears and other teams that clearly don’t have the leg to make half those kicks in one game. If you’re a fan, no way you do not want to see your kicker score all the points especially a loss to a division foe. Both Dolphin receivers left last Sunday’s game with concussions. Fitzmagic was limited and drives were halted but kicks were made. You live by the kick you die by the kick as the Jets got the last leg upon the Dolphins in this one.
#31.NEW YORK GIANTS 2-11 (SAME)
Rookie Daniel Jones is probably out for the rest of the season for the G-MEN. Perfect timing for Eli Manning’s farewell which started off with a bang. Manning and the Giants had a 14-0 lead on MNF. They were winning 17-3 at the half versus depleted Eagle team that had many playmakers out with injuries. Manning was 15-30 203 yards and tossed two touchdowns. His first game since week two. The Eagles came back and won the game in overtime. Giants tie their franchise record 9 straight losses set back in 1976. The 39 year old Eli Manning should get one home start in front of the Giant faithful. Eli Manning a two time Superbowl winner will be free agent next season. I would considered him a middle tier quarterback. Guys like Matthew Stafford and Ryan Tannehill have hope. If you can surround a guy with playmakers, a good line, some type of running game and a good defense he may have a few years where he breaks out and accomplishes a Superbowl win for your city. That’s what Eli Manning has done. I’d say Joe Flacco as well. Both of them have had bad years after they won the Superbowl. I think Eli Manning will walk off into the sunset after this season. He’ll be the type who retires after only playing for one team.
#32.CINCINNATI BENGALS 1-12 (SAME) The Bengals ruined their perfect season last week as they put in the rifleman Andy Dalton as he guided them through the roller coaster Jets team. Like the snap of the finger Bengals are back to their losing ways. They beat Cleveland in every stat imagined on Sunday but the most important stat, the score. Joe Mixon had a career high in rushing yards in one game running for 146 and finding the end zone. No worries the Bengals are still in the Joe Burrow sweepstakes.
It will not compete with the silver sow award. Or Les Nesman’s Buck eye awards. It’s not skyline chili. But its something to get excited over.
