2026 NFL WEEKLY PREDICTIONS – WEEK 6 DONE THE WILD SHAMROCK WAY

Last week we showed some improvement by winning 10 games. Our first double digit wins of the year, which took until week 5. We had plenty of weeks when we were close winning only 9 games.

LAST WEEK’S RECORD: (10-5)

SEASON RECORD: (43-36)

This week we hope to continue to climb the ladder with another week of double digits in wins and look to improve our number as well. Lucky week six, which could be another disaster in upsets. We are prepared with a fully stocked bar. Cheers!!!

NFL WEEK SIX STRAIGHT PICK-EM

THE THURSDAY NIGHT GAME

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (3-2) AT DENVER BRONCOS (3-2)

When line backer Brian Bozworth, in 1987, wore the Seahawks uniform in his first ever game in Denver, he was greeted with hatred from fans wearing shirts that said, “Ban the Boz.” Denver fans did not know it was Boz’s company that made the shirts he provided to the Broncos. In present times, both the Seahawks and Broncos play in separate conferences and both come into Thursday with winning records. Both teams have one of the better defenses in the league this year. They seemed much better last year. Sean Payton, Broncos head coach, is taking over the play calling on the offense. Bo Nix continues to struggle. I don’t think Payton can fix him that quickly just by calling the plays one week. Sam Darnold and the Seahawks have the better offense right now between the two teams. It will be a close affair. I like Seattle leaving town with a win.

OUR PICK: SEAHAWKS

THE OVERSEAS GAME

HOUSTON TEXANS(1-4) AT JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS(4-1)

London, England is home away from home for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will be playing their second straight game over the pond. The Texans finally cracked the win column last week against the pathetic Titans. The Jaguars struggled against the Eagles but in the end prevailed. The Texans added a wide receiver in a trade with the Cardinals bringing CJ Stroud his former teammate at college, in Marvin Harrison Jr. This is a game where the Jaguars could step on the throats of the Texans and perhaps end their season. Digging out at 1-5 and expecting to make post-season are not good odds. The Texans went on a tear last year winning a ton of games in a row. Were the hapless Titans the start of this repeat? Trevor Lawrence has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns versus the Texans in his career. He has a 3-7 record versus the Texans in 10 starts against them. I think the addition of Harrison Jr and the struggles Lawrence has had along with the Texans defense showing signs of improvement, really wipes out the home field edge the Jags have over the pond.

OUR PICK: TEXANS

THE SUNDAY SLATE

CHICAGO BEARS (3-2) AT ATLANTA FALCONS (2-3)

Caleb Williams is expected back behind center after missing multiple weeks with a hamstring injury. For the Falcons, Michael Penix Jr. was questionable but he will start which is good news for the Falcons because the offense runs better with him. For the Bears this is very good news after your quarterback play last week was dreadful versus the Packers. The Packers gave the Bears a old fashioned beat down. Both these two teams can run the ball well. Bijan Robinson may be one of the best backs in the NFL for the Falcons. With Williams back behind center, the Bears running game gets better. Williams gives the Bears better chances at succeeding down field with the deep ball. He can escape defenders and make plays with his legs. When he’s connecting in the air, the Bears throw in some running plays as well that pay big money at Menards for them. The Falcons should be able to exploit the Bears’ weak ass defense and generate enough points to make this a close game. They call him the Ice Man and he delivers even in Hot Atlanta. The Falcons play in a dome so Williams will not melt. I like the Bears rebounding from last week and getting things right again. I can’t see Ben Johnson suddenly going on a losing streak. He is that kind of coach where he gets back in the win column very fast.

OUR PICK: DA BEARS

TENNESSEE TITANS (0-5) AT INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (2-3)

Cam Ward may have something in common with the great Colt McCoy and other QB’s of the pass. If Ward suffers a loss by the Colts this weekend, then he will be the 5th guy to lose his first 8 games against divisional opponents. McCoy did it last from the 2010-’11 season wearing the Brownie uniform. The Titans defense has been holding running backs to 3.5 yards per carry. The Colts have one of the best backs in the league with Jonathan Taylor. The Colts defense have played better in recent weeks as this was a D unit that was gutted and castrated the first few weeks of the season. The Titans have shown me that maybe they are only a tad better than last year which is not a good look for this current coaching staff. The Colts offense with Daniel Jones should be able to generate enough points to keep the Titans hapless. Colts are better playing at home as well. That is the Sunday recipe that wins this one as they should remember to crack the Titans first & then stir gently until they dissolve in the batter.

OUR PICK: COLTS

NEW YORK JETS (2-3) AT NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-2)

Last year during the Patriots march to the Superbowl, your first instinct was New England has started a new evil empire. Like a snap of the finger, out with the old & in with the new. The season did not start off crisp for the Patriots. Like last year. Now they are marching in the AFC conference winning two straight games. If you hate the Drake or love the Drake, Maye has turned his season around and is taking his lightsaber like a torch and leading his storm troopers into the battlefield. The Jets are not the same ole chumps they have been the last few seasons. The Jets defense sacked the sexual predator 8 times last week in a win. Can the Jets defense make mayhem for Maye? The Jets defense has done very good not allowing a ton of yards each game. Geno Smith has been a serviceable QB for them. The Jets defense are not getting the turnovers. They get the sacks though. However Maye can get rid of the ball fast and can escape the pocket very well, which can break the opponent’s defensive will. This is a close game but the new Empire will continue it’s march.

OUR PICK: PATRIOTS

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (1-4) AT NEW YORK GIANTS (3-1-1)

The Saints have been one of the biggest disappointments of the season so far. They have lost three straight coming into this Sunday’s action. The Giants should have won the game versus the Commanders and should have lost the game in OT as well. The Commanders mistake at the end gives New York a tie over a loss. The Saints owner has publicly said she is clearly disappointed in how her team has played. The Saints offense has been on the decline for weeks now. The defense has not done very well at stopping teams. The Giants offense have gravitated to the Crab Man in Jameis Winston. He has formed a lethal combo in the passing game with his tight end Isaiah Likely, who is climbing up the charts as one of the best at his position. The Saints are favorited coming into this game even though they are on the road. This has pissed off a few of the Giants players. Like a few weeks ago when the Cardinals came into town favored. It did not work well for the red birds. I like the Giants in this one because the Saints are not showing me anything. Not sure the Big Easy team even has a pulse at this point.

OUR PICK: GIANTS

PITTSBURGH STEELERS (3-2) AT TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (1-4)

Todd Bowles’ defense likes to operate throwing everything including the kitchen sink at the quarterback. Aaron Rodgers has not done well against Bowles’ defensive scheme over his career. Rodgers has 10 touchdown passes along with 10 interceptions all-time when he faces the Buccaneers in six total games. There’s only two teams Rodgers has not thrown more TD passes than interceptions. The Buccaneers shocked the Cowboys in week 5. The Buccaneers is operating with an undrafted QB from Kansas University. I thought the Jayhawks were a basketball university. Jalon Daniels is 1-1 in two starts since taking over for the injured Baker Mayfield. He has two touchdown passes so far with three interceptions. If the Steelers can stop Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving, who averages 5.3 yards per carry, they can win this game. The Steelers were able to prevail last week versus the Colts, who have Jonathan Taylor in their back field. The Buccaneers defense will keep this game tight. I think the Steelers will prevail keeping the Buccaneers one dimensional on offense. I can’t see Daniels beating the Steelers without a balanced attack.

OUR PICK: STEELERS

BALTIMORE RAVENS (4-1) AT CLEVELAND BROWNS (3-2)

Are the walls starting to cave in on ole dear Watson? The Browns head coach Todd Monken knows the skinny on Tyler Snoop Dog Huntley, who will make his second start of the year filling in for Lamar Jackson, who is out. The Jets ended Watson’s resurrection as an NFL QB last week sacking the sexual predator 8 times. Tyler Huntley has worked with Monken from his Baltimore days and Snoop is 8-9 as a starter in his career. The Ravens, like the Jets, can get to Deshaun because their defense is in the top 5 at QB hits with 55 of them so far. Both these teams I have no love for. Both have solid defenses. The Browns’ young wide receivers have done well with Watson as the starter. The Ravens have plenty of weapons including Derrick Henry, who’s been running people over all season long. The Browns have done well defending their crib. I think the big Dawg in this will be Snoop’s performance-wise, not making the mistakes behind center to cost his team. The Ravens defense will rattle the cage of the biggest dog in the game.

OUR PICK: RAVENS

CAROLINA PANTHERS (2-2) AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (2-3)

The Panthers coming off the bye week are well rested and eager to get back to action. The Eagles are having some problems. No Saquon Barkley, who has not shown up all year. I know because he’s on my fantasy team. Now the Eagles will be without their starting QB Jalen Hurts, who has a blood clot.

The sky is falling in Philadelphia which means the natives will become restless. Santa beware. You will be mugged by the Eagles fan base. Bryce Young has 9 touchdowns in 4 games and is really now becoming the franchise QB for the Panthers. The Panthers will generate offense off an Eagles D that is really no longer scary. The Eagles encounter young back up QB Tanner McKee, who will making his 3rd start of his NFL career and was 1-1 in the first two. McKee lacks playmakers and a running game, which the Panthers D should keep the Eagles grounded and escape Philly with a road win.

OUR PICK: PANTHERS

ARIZONA CARDINALS (1-4) AT LA RAMS (2-3)

The Cardinals have lost 4 straight games since their shocker in week 1 over the Chargers. Since then, everyone has eaten up the Chargers. The Rams offense finally looked sharp on Monday night, but their defense could not stop Josh Allen and the Bills. The Rams have been everyone’s pick to represent the NFC in this season’s Superbowl, but they have not been able to play all on both sides of the ball and all three phases of the game. The Cardinals will be without their rookie starting running back Jeremiyah Love, which could be a good thing as he is only averaging 3.7 yards per carry so far. The Cardinals traded Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Texans last week. However, their offense still can score points without those guys. The Rams offense will take advantage of another bad defense. The Rams defense should also be able to rebound and contain Jacoby Brissett and that Cardinals offense from getting out of hand. Rams win by double digits and even their record at the same time.

OUR PICK: RAMS

LA CHARGERS (0-5) AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (4-0)

OUCH!!! Justin Herbert leading the league in interceptions. The Chargers are most likely regretting the hire of Mike McDaniels, getting his dirty hands on the star QB. The Chiefs are back!!! Say it ain’t so, Jim Harbaugh!! I don’t see anybody anytime soon saying the Chargers are back. Patrick Mahomes has the Chiefs perfect in 4 games and they are coming off their bye week. The Chiefs will need some of the wide receivers off the junior varsity team to rise up because of some injuries they have suffered. Rashee Rice is out with a hamstring injury. Hate when bad things happen to bad people. Then the Chiefs are without Tyquon Thornton with a severe ankle injury. The replacements will rise up to the occasion. Mahomes will make them look like veterans. This game is at Arrowhead, which is a hard place for any visiting team to win at. Teams that have not won a game are like caged up animals. Anything can happen. I just don’t see any fight left in this Chargers team, who were a playoff team. The Chargers will continue to be the doormat of the AFC West.

OUR PICK: CHIEFS

BUFFALO BILLS (4-1) AT LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (3-2)

The Bills and Raiders lack a thing called a defense. I know the NFL seems to have outlawed defense, thinking for the greater good of the game. Which is a shame. I think this game between Captain Kirk Cousins and Josh Allen will have plenty of fireworks. The Raiders come off their second loss in a a row taking a beat down by the Patriots. In a game Cousins did not play well in. The Bills went to LA and won a shootout in overtime. It was Josh Allen’s first win in OT of his career, which he lost 7 straight before that game. The Raiders have struggles against the run. The Raiders rushing attack has only averaged 82 yards per game. To beat the Bills, the Raiders need to control the time of possession. One weakness the Bills have is giving up chunks of yards in the passing game. For the Bills they flew into LA to play the Rams but did not go back to Buffalo because they are playing in Vegas this weekend. I think they will come in business-like. I bet plenty of the seats in Vegas will be occupied by the Bills Mafia.

I feel like the Bills defense will make some noise in this one after getting burned the first 5 weeks of the season. Especially after the Rams gutted them like a big buck drinking water in a forest by some hunter with a AK-47. I feel like the only direction is up after sinking so far below the football surface. Cousins will not match up scores with Allen.

OUR PICK: BILLS

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

DALLAS COWBOYS (2-3) AT GREEN BAY PACKERS (3-2)

This is a big game for both these teams. The Cowboys were stunned last week by the Buccaneers, who got their first win of the season. The Cowboys lost to an undrafted quarterback making his second start of his career. For the Packers, they have been playing like crap until they feasted on the annual Bear hunting weekend.

Last year when these two teams met, it ended up in a 40-40 tie. Jordan Love, who probably played his best game of the year last week, should be able to carve up the Cowboys defense once again. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense are still some of the best in the NFL. The Cowboys offense will be looking to rebound from last week when the Buccaneers limited them to under 20 points. Both teams are looking up at rivals in their divisions in the standings. The NFC North where the Packers reside, all have winning records. The Cowboys don’t want to fall 2-4 especially if the Giants win this weekend. The Giants already beat the Cowboys this season. The Packers are not favored by much here. This game will have plenty of offense. It will come down to who has the ball last. It’s a coin flip. Packers win the flip. By the way, it was heads.

OUR PICK: PACKERS

THE MONDAY NIGHT GAME

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (1-3-1) AT SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (5-0)

The Washington Commanders are looking to add a spear on their helmet logo. Perhaps going through the W. It flashes back to one of the old Washington Redskins helmet they had with a arrow and feathers on the side of the helmet. Oops, I said Redskins. Ten dollars in the cookie jar. I think the addition of the spear will look good on the Commanders helmet in my opinion. The Commanders are very fortunate they came away with a tie last week. They screwed themselves out of a win actually. The Commanders have been playing sloppy football. Too many penalties over the last few weeks. The 49ers are one of only 3 teams left that have not lost a game yet. The 49ers are still pretty much intact as well, not suffering from a rash of injuries. The Commanders have some injuries to a few key wide receivers that will not help their cause. The 49ers play mostly clean games. They are playing well on both sides of the ball. I don’t see the Commanders coming to town and leaving with the upset. The Commanders head coach is on the hot seat. Hey, at least they will improve their logo.

OUR PICK: 49ERS
